We have been selected for the 2009 San Juan Capistrano Mayor's Business Award!

The Capistrano Dispatch - December 25, 2009 - January 7, 2010:

San Juan Photo & Digital, owned by San Juan Capistrano residents Scott and Diana Schmitt, was selected for the 2009 Mayor's Business Award by then-Mayor Mark Nielsen.

Nielsen cited the Schmitt's unselfish support for community programs and events for honoring San Juan Photo and Digital, which is in the Von's shopping center on Camino Capistrano.  "During their 22 years in business, the couple has unselfishly supported community programs and events too numerous to list," Nielsen said.  "They have continually used their company as a vehicle to benefit others in our city."

Scott Schmitt served on a panel several years ago that was responsible for the creation of the city's San Juan Summer Nites Series, and has been a leader and Nation Chief with Indian Guides over the years.  San Juan Photo & Digital sponsors the kids' bounce house at the four Summer Nites concerts each year.  For the past five years, the business has provided free services for Santa photos with the help of the city during the Christmas Tree Lighting celebration.  Through Diana's Accent Portraits, the couple has facilitated fund-raising programs for numerous schools, churches and athletic programs throughout South County.  Recognizing our armed forces, the Schmitts sponsored more than 1,000 photos over the past 18 years of families of troops in the Middle East.

Along with work in the community, San Juan Photo & Digital received national recognition for its environmental conscientiousness, Nielsen said.
